John coordinates our venues and guest stays across Ireland. With years of guiding experience and a calm, friendly approach, he makes sure every FishBase trip feels relaxed, safe and well-organised from first enquiry to final cast.
Lisa looks after guest communication and booking. She helps you choose the right lake, lodge and level of guidance, and is always happy to answer practical questions about travel, tackle and what to expect on arrival.
Mike is one of our local guides, specialising in predator and coarse fishing. He shares local knowledge on swims, seasons and tactics, helping guests make the most of their time on the water — whatever their experience level.
Sara loves introducing newcomers to Irish fishing. Patient, encouraging and highly knowledgeable, she focuses on making the experience enjoyable, safe and confidence building — especially for families and first-time anglers.

Common questions anglers ask before booking with FishBase
It depends on the specific lake or lodge. Some FishBase partners are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs, while others do not allow pets for wildlife or accommodation reasons. Let us know you’d like to travel with a pet and we’ll show you only options where they’re welcome and comfortable.
Most FishBase venues are self-catering with a kitchen or outdoor cooking area, and many have great pubs or restaurants a short drive away. At some locations we can arrange breakfast hampers or locally prepared meals on request. Just ask our team when you enquire and we’ll outline the options for your chosen venue.
Yes — secure on-site parking is available at all FishBase venues, with most locations offering easy access for unloading gear close to your swim or accommodation. If access is more limited (for example at remote banks), we’ll let you know in advance and help you plan accordingly.
Many of our lodges and houses offer reliable Wi-Fi, while some more remote or off-grid venues prioritise a “switched-off” experience with limited or no connectivity. You’ll see this clearly marked when we suggest venues, so you can choose between staying plugged in or fully escaping for a few days.
Cancellation terms can vary slightly between venues, but in general we offer free or low-cost changes up to a set number of days before arrival. Weather alone usually isn’t a reason for refunds, but if conditions make fishing unsafe we’ll always try to reschedule or find a fair solution with the venue. Times vary a little, but most FishBase lodges and houses offer afternoon check-in and late-morning check-out. Day-ticket waters normally open early so you can be set up for first light. If you need slightly different times, let us know — we’ll do our best to arrange it with the venue.
